Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center- Shreveport seek to recruit one General Cardiology faculty with an interest in teaching, clinical and translational research.
Appointment would be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Must be BC/BE and eligible for Louisiana state medical licensure. The Division pf Cardiology is part of the Center of Excellence for Cardiovascular Diseases and Sciences with opportunities for collaborative research involving basic science and clinical departments. Seed money is available to support research for candidates with demonstrated interest in basic or translational research.

The applicant must meet the following:

  • Have an MD, MD/PhD, DO, or international equivalent terminal degree,
  • Be eligible for medical licensure and clinical practice in the state of Louisiana,
  • Have a proven record of administrative and academic leadership abilities, as well as a demonstrated commitment to education and mentoring,
  • Be eligible for faculty appointment at LSUHSC-Shreveport as an Assistant/Associate Professor, per SOM standards.
  • A strong record of scholarly achievement and extramural funding 
  • Demonstrated leadership and accomplishments in complex organizational environments
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with learners, faculty, healthcare teams, administrators, and community organizations.
