The IT Analyst 3 reports to the Assistant Director for Servers & Applications and supports servers, storage, and applications for LSUHS. The incumbent works with the Assistant Director and team to install, administer, and optimize LSUHS servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of virtualization hosts, configuring all new implementations, and implementing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Additionally, the position provides support for disaster recovery, business continuity, and emergency preparedness of IT resources. The position is responsible for assisting in supporting all LSUHS-Shreveport critical server and application functions including but not limited to Active Directory, email, account management, SQL servers, web servers, file shares. Incumbent conducts thorough problem analysis in regard to technical system and application programs; documents findings and proposes problem resolution alternatives and maintains current working knowledge and documentation of all installed application systems.
Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position.
Incumbent will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur that customer satisfaction is met at all times.


95% Essential Position Functions & Duties
1. Monitor and maintain vSphere infrastructure and environment (vCenter Server and ESXi hosts) create and manage virtual machines, patch security vulnerabilities and monitor/troubleshoot alerts.
2. Create and manage Active Directory objects (service accounts and security groups).
3. Monitor and maintain storage arrays, create and manage storage volumes, and fileshares.
4. Collaborate with other teams to plan, install, and configure new software and hardware, ensuring compatibility with organizational polices.
5. Create and manage backup jobs, restore servers and files from backup, and resolve sharing and permissions issues.
6. Create and organize thorough documentation of processes and problem resolution.
7. Perform all tasks necessary to ensure systems are secure, optimized, and functioning efficiently, addressing issues across virtualization, storage, and authentication environments.

The applicant must meet the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years relevant experience with technical skills noted below.
  • Technical skills required: Working knowledge of server hardware, Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems, Office365, network file shares, virtualization, or Active Directory.

 

  • Microsoft Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, ITIL
  • Experience with blade servers, large storage arrays, backup appliances
  • Experience with Azure, Intune, PowerShell, IIS, SQL Server, Exchange, VMWare, Nagios
  • Experience with higher education, healthcare systems, or HIPAA compliance

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000
