The Department of Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport is seeking a full-time Chief of the Section of Cardiology. This position will serve a critical role in the education of medical and allied health students, interns and residents in the Department of Medicine, fellows in the Section of Cardiology, and the faculty in the Section of Cardiology. The incumbent will serve as leader of the group of Cardiologists, advising the Chairperson regarding the hiring of faculty and staff and all other matters related to this group of physicians and staff employed within this group.
The Chief of the Section of Cardiology will serve a critical role in the care of patients with cardiac illnesses, oversee the care of patients on the Cardiology service and in the Coronary Care Unit, provide consultative care to other physicians in the University regarding patients with Cardiac illnesses and undertake procedures needed for the care of patients with cardiac illnesses.
