The Ander Laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at LSU Health Shreveport is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to help lead multidisciplinary projects on the pathogenesis of arthropod-borne viruses. Current projects are focused on species-specific host-pathogen interactions influencing the dissemination and viremia development of encephalitic alphaviruses. The postdoctoral fellow will design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and write manuscripts. The postdoctoral fellow will apply techniques from virology, genomics, transcriptomics, animal work, immunology, and pathophysiology to characterize the interactions between viral agents and animal models.
Additional responsibilities include routine laboratory organization and maintenance; managing/training students and personnel; reading relevant literature; writing papers and giving scientific presentations; and maintaining compliance with all mandatory training.
