CM-45 - Use of Prisoners in Research

Prior approval must be obtained from the Chancellor's Office before any investigator of the LSU Health Sciences Center engages in human subjects research where prisoners will be used as the subject population. Please submit such requests to the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Permission to conduct this research must be obtained PRIOR to application for IRB approval. As with all human subjects research conducted by employees and students of this institution, subsequent review and approval by the LSUHSC-NO Institutional Review Board must also be obtained.
