Restricted Items List
If you present your LaCarte Card for payment to vendors falling under a category on the restricted items list, the authorization request will be declined. If you feel a particular purchase has been erroneously declined, please contact the LaCarte Administrator. The following is a list of restricted items, however this list is not exhaustive and cardholders are expected to use good judgment when determining whether a purchase is both appropriate and work related. NOTE: Just because a vendor may not be restricted does not mean that it is an acceptable purchase.
- Alcoholic Beverages
- Alimony
- Bail Bond Payments
- Bars and Lounges
- Blackberries and Blackberry Accessories
- Cash Advances, Wire Transfers, and Money Orders
- Capital Equipment
- Cap and Gowns
- Cell Phones and Cellular Phone Services Contracts
- Child Support
- Clothing (Work uniforms are allowed)
- Computers and Laptops
- Compressed Gases
- Court Costs
- Decorations (posters, plants, etc.)
- Discretionary Expenses
- Donations
- Entertainment Expenses (tours, golf, theater, etc)
- Explosives, Ammunition, and Weapons
- Facility type purchases (room modifications, wall mounts, carpet, etc.)
- Fines, Late Fees, Penalties (including parking tickets)
- Flowers for any occasion (CM18 was rescinded)
- Frames
- Furniture (desks, chairs, bookcases, file cabinets, etc.)
- Gifts and Give Away Items
- Gift Cards and Gift Certificates
- General Contractors
- Holiday Items (decorations, gifts, cards, etc.)
- Insurance Premiums
- Internet Services
- Online Auction Sites (Ebay) and Paypal
- Pawn Shops
- Personal, Professional, and Consulting Services
- Personal purchases of any kind
- Picture Frames and Posters
- Plaques, Trophies, Awards
- Tax Payments
- Temporary Help Services
- Tuition
- 1099 Reportable Vendors
- Unusual Items: Anything appearing inconsistent with he departments mission.
