Obtain work experience by working closely with professional engineers, architects, project managers and contractors in the Planning and Construction office. This includes directing contractors to other areas on the LSU Health New Orleans campus. Scan all documents relating to construction projects including correspondence to the shared drive. Answer phone calls and relay messages to staff. Schedule meetings with contractors and architects. (70%)
Mail Distribution Ensures priority handling of time-sensitive correspondences for the Planning and Construction office. Schedule equipment maintenance as needed. (30%)
Eligibility for employment as a student worker requires the individual to be enrolled in an accredited high school, junior college, college, university or a vocational-technical school operated by the State of Louisiana in at least a part-time status.
There are two (2) appointments available. Students may work up to twenty (20) hours per week during any week in which classes are in session or exams are scheduled at any time within the week. When classes or exams are not scheduled for a full week, students may work up to forty (40) hours within that week if written supervisor permission is submitted to the timekeeper in advance of the work.
