If you are interested in setting up a Blog, please email webmaster@lsuhsc.edu with the following information and we will work to set you up with a blog using WordPress

Questions for new blogs:

  1. What is the name of the Blog?

  2. What should the name of the directory be?

  3. Where should the blog be located?

  4. What type of access do you need?  Administrative, Editor,etc. (see roles below) 

  5. Should anonymous users have access to view the blog?

  6. Should anonymous users be able to post comments to the blog?

  7. What LSUHSC users need access to blog?

Comment posting options:

Post only with approval?

Or Post after first approval?

Or Post without approval?

What categories? Default Category?

Would you like the blog to appear in search engines?

Roles and Capabilities Information


  • Administrator - Somebody who has access to all the administration features 

  • Editor - Somebody who can publish posts, manage posts as well as manage other people's posts, etc. 

  • Author - Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts 

  • Contributor - Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish posts 

  • Subscriber - Somebody who can read comments/comment/receive newsletters, etc.
