LSU Health New Orleans and Partners Announce Comprehensive Plan to Eliminate Cervical Cancer in Louisiana

SU Health New Orleans, in partnership with Louisiana Cancer Prevention and Control Programs (LCP) and other local and regional partners, today released the Bayou Blueprint: Louisiana’s Path to Ending Cervical Cancer (2026-2035). The plan represents a coordinated, data-driven roadmap developed in collaboration with healthcare providers, public health researchers, community organizations and cervical cancer survivors across the state.

Match Day reveals 49 percent of LSU Health New Orleans graduates will stay in Louisiana for residency

On Friday, 194 LSU Health New Orleans graduating medical students gathered at the Audubon Tea Room to reveal the results of the annual National Resident Match Program (NRMP). Match Day results revealed that 49% of graduates will remain in Louisiana for residency training. Of those, 84% will enter an LSU Health residency program.

LSU Health New Orleans Commits to HHS Initiative to Increase Nutrition Training for Future Physicians

LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine is among more than 50 higher education institutions nationwide that have joined a new initiative led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Education to require at least 40 hours of nutrition education for medical students beginning in fall 2026.
