Educational Benefits for Veterans and Their Families
In recognition of your service, the federal government provides educational benefits to veterans and eligible family members. At LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC), the Office of the Registrar serves as the VA certifying official and acts as a liaison between veteran students and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs(VA).

We assist students who:

  • Served on active military duty
  • Are members of the Selected Reserve or National Guard
  • Are dependents of a veteran who has died, is captured or missing, or is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability

Our support includes processing documentation, managing correspondence, and certifying benefits to ensure access to a range of VA educational entitlement programs. This website is designed to help eligible individuals interested in attending LSUHSC navigate and utilize their VA education benefits.

To receive benefits, students must complete the LSUHSC Veterans Certification Request Form each semester they intend to claim benefits. Submitting this form ensures that our office receives updated details such as mailing address, degree objectives, and other relevant information.
