Orientation and Onboarding

LSU Health Sciences Center - New Orleans New Employee Orientation and Onboarding tools are designed to provide new hires with the pertinent information they need to begin working at the Health Sciences Center.

The New Employee Orientation provides detailed information about our organizational structure, policies and procedures, benefits options available to eligible new employees, human resources, payroll, health and safety, ethics and compliance, and our campus assistance program. The objective of the session is to familiarize new employees with LSUHSC-NO's mission, vision, and values and to provide an opportunity to meet other new colleagues. There are also plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

New Employee and Benefits Orientation

All new hires of sufficient percent effort are required to attend New Employee Orientation. Currently, Talent Development is facilitating completely virtual orientations via Zoom. The orientations are held bi-weekly and new employees are invited through an invitation email detailing the schedule with benefits enrollment documents attached.

The Virtual Orientation begins at 9:00 a.m. and typically concludes around 1:05 p.m.

Talent Development is currently developing and planning the rollout of a hybridized model to accomodate in-person and virtual attendance simultaneously.
