A full service technology center dedicated to serving all of the student, staff, faculty, departmental and clinical needs of the LSU Health Sciences Center.

Provides the Health Sciences Center community with professional level technical assistance in procuring and maintaining personal computer software, hardware, and accessories. This Auxiliary section works closely with the Office of Computer Services to ensure the computing needs of the Health Sciences Center are met in accordance with the best strategic direction while maximizing resources available to individual users.

Scope of Services:
CTSS offers its products to students, faculty, staff, departments, hospitals & affiliated clinics. Our team of technology professionals offers the absolute best in industry knowledge, experience and systems integration "know how", they are available for assistance and consultation 5 days a week by phone, email and in person in our office in the Medical Education Building.


Hardware purchases

  • PC systems including workstations, laptops, desktops, tablet PCs and servers from vendors such as Apple, Dell, HP/Compaq, Lenovo, Sony, and Toshiba.

  • Other Hardware: Printers, Scanners, Imaging equipment, Storage devices, Communication devices, Networking infrastructure, Computer System Upgrades, Multi-function devices and PDA's

Software Purchases

  • Operating Systems, Scientific and Research, Software development tools, Specialty Software, Imaging, Database and Multimedia

Virus/Spyware removal & Data Recovery

  • Detect and remove spyware/malware/viruses

  • Retrieve lost data in the event of a drive failure or data corruption


  • Authorized Repair Center for Dell and HP computer systems. We also offer printer and peripheral repairs for HP and Lexmark products via established contracts for printer repairs.

CTSS works directly with the LSUHSC Schools of Medicine, Allied Health, Dental, and Nursing students to provide and support computers as part of the Computer Assisted Learning initiative.
