Visitor Usage Policy - Business Hours/Weekdays

The LSUHSC Libraries are open to the general public weekdays from opening to 6pm or Library closing, whichever is earlier. Members of the general public are expected to comply with all applicable policies including, but not limited to, CM-44 and the Campus Police Security Policy and Procedures regarding Campus Security. The purpose of the Libraries is research and study, individually and collaboratively. Keeping the Library spaces free of disruptive behavior, harassment (verbal and nonverbal) and threatening behavior is essential to that purpose. Visitors to the Libraries are expected to maintain the same standards of behavior as our students, faculty and staff.

Visitor Usage Policy - Nights and Weekends

The LSUHSC Campus is not open to the general public after 6pm on weekdays or over weekends (and holidays). LSUHSC faculty, staff and students are expected to have a university issued ID to access the buildings during these hours. This includes the Libraries. Visiting students may use the Libraries during this time with a valid ID from their university and have signed the University Police register log to gain access. Area health professionals may use the Libraries during this time who have signed the University Police register and presented a valid ID that identifies them as a health professional. Individuals in the Libraries after 6pm on weekdays, on weekends and holidays may be required to show identification.  Those remaining in the Libraries after 6pm on weekdays, on weekends and holidays who are not LSUHSC-NO students, faculty and staff, visiting students, or area health professionals will be asked to leave.

Visitor Usage Policy - Enforcement

Visitors that do not comply with this policy shall be required to leave the premises. Designated library staff on premise shall have final authority regarding whether a visitor is in compliance with this policy and taking any remedial action necessary.
