Campus Resources
The Bursar's Office is responsible for assessing tuition and fees, collecting payments, and processing student refunds. In addition, we assist our students with enrollment and cancellation of student health insurance provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana.
The Campus Assistance Program is a free service provided by LSU Health Sciences Center at New Orleans to assist faculty, staff, residents, students, and their immediate family members in resolving personal, academic or work related problems. Faculty, staff or residents who are enrolled or employed with LSUHSC-NO programs in other cities are also eligible for CAP services. A counselor is on call 24 hours a day.
The LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) Campus Health Program is committed to providing a quality academic and work environment for the entire LSUHSC-NO community. We have developed numerous health, wellness, safety and academic resources to assist the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans' faculty, residents, staff, and students.
The Student Financial Aid Office administers grants, loans, scholarships, and part-time employment. Students interested in receiving financial aid should contact this Office well in advance of their expected enrollment. Each student's need for aid will be evaluated on information supplied and in accordance with Financial Aid Policy of the Health Sciences Center. Representatives of the Office are available for consultation with all candidates for admission and with students.
LSUHSC-New Orleans offers students the option of purchasing student health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSLA). During registration, students must either purchase insurance coverage from BCBSLA or must be prepared to show evidence of coverage by another company, in which case the requirement to purchase may be waived.
The LSUHSC Wellness Center is dedicated to enhancing the mental and physical health of the LSUHSC community through access to state-of-the-art sports equipment, group exercise classes, and membership options for students, residents, faculty, and staff. This welcoming facility provides a supportive environment where individuals can focus on their overall well-being, balance academic and professional demands, and stay active.
Voter Registration
The 1998 reauthorization of the Higher Education Act requires all postsecondary institutions
to make a good-faith effort to distribute voter registration forms to each degree-
or certificate-seeking student who attends classes on their campus. At LSU Health
Sciences Center, these forms are provided by the state and are available in the Office
of the Registrar, Resource Center Building room 154.
Louisiana residents can download the Louisiana Voter Registration Application from the Secretary of State's office and return the completed form to their local Registrar of Voters office. Louisiana statutes require individuals to be registered 30 days prior to an election
to be eligible to vote in that particular election.
Students residing outside of Louisiana who wish to register to vote in their home
state may do so by completing the National Voter Registration Form provided by the United States Election Assistance Commission. Most states require
that you register in advance of the election by as much as thirty five days and some
states do not accept the National Voter Registration form.
Voter registration information and links to online voter registration forms are sent
to all LSUHSC students, via email, as required by this act.
