INNOPAC

*EDIT* And the server came back online at 3:35pm

INNOPAC is currently down due to a system upgrade. It should be back up shortly.

INNOPAC

*Edit* INNOPAC was restored about 5:30 pm

While many of the network issues that occurred this morning have been resolved, unfortunately INNOPAC has not been restored to service.

We do not have an estimated time when it will be restored.

Network Issues

The Network Center in Baton Rouge unexpectedly lost power around 7:30 am this morning. Systems have been slowly coming back online as the IT department finds alternatives. Full power will not be restored until the end of the day (fingers crossed).

At this moment, we do not have access to our online catalog, INNOPAC, but the Libraries’ webpages have been restored. Please contact us for work arounds.

Our chat and email services do seem to be back up. And telephone service was unaffected.

UPDATE: The link resolver is now working correctly in PubMed. However, please let us know if you have any problems or need any other help.

There is a system-wide problem that causing the link resolver to be unavailable in PubMed. If you need to search MEDLINE and wish to use our link resolver to check the availability of an article, you can do so either through Ovid or EBSCOhost.

If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

LibGuides Problems

All the Libraries’ LibGuides are currently experiencing very slow response time OR won’t load at all. We are working with the host company to solve the problem.

*Edit* Monday, January 12th 8:40am.

The issue appears to have been resolved over the weekend.

ILLiad Maintenance Scheduled

The Libraries’ ILLiad service will be offline on Saturday, November 22nd from 1 am to approximately 3 am for routine maintenance.

PubMed problems resolved

UPDATE: The earlier problems accessing PubMed have been resolved. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you are still having troubles with this or any other Library resource.

Original post:

We are currently experiencing problems accessing PubMed both on- and off-campus. In addition, the WebBridge Link Resolver is not working from PubMed, so you will not see links to articles when you check the availability from the citations.

If you wish to continue searching PubMed, you will need to check for the availability of articles by looking up the journal titles in the Library’s catalog, INNOPAC.

The link resolver is still working correctly in other databases that also search MEDLINE. You can search Ovid or MEDLINE through EBSCOhost, and you will see any available links to the articles in the citations when you click the “Check Full Text” link.

We will update as soon as we have more information. If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Update: A to Z List access problems

Although the previous problems with the E-Journals & E-Books A to Z List were thought to have been fixed, they are still lingering today with the list being unavailable or running slow. There is no estimate as to when the issues will be resolved.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Ische Library Closed – September 20th

University Facilities sent out the following email at 1:30 pm today:

On Saturday, September 20th, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, there will be a complete air conditioning outage in the Allied Health/Nursing Building, Clinical Sciences Research Building, Lions/LSU Clinics Building, Medical Education Building and the Resource Center Building.  With the exception of the Animal Care spaces, there will not be any air conditioning anywhere in these buildings during this outage.  Walk-in coolers will not be affected but limited access to any refrigeration units is recommended due to higher indoor air temperatures. This outage is necessary for a contractor to replace a large failing chilled water isolation valve in the Central Plant.  This valve must be replaced as soon as possible.  Further delay may result in total failure and an extended loss of air conditioning during regular weekday hours.

Because of the a/c shutdown both the Isché Library and the Library Commons will be closed on Saturday.

The Isché Library will reopen at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 21st.

Update: A to Z List Now Working

After an outage earlier today, the E-Journals & E-Books A to Z List is now available again.

If you need any other assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Problem with INNOPAC – Resolved

*Edit* 11:10 am and the problem has been fixed!

We noticed at just before 10 am this morning that our catalog, INNOPAC is acting up. Searching by New Orleans Collection by anything besides keyword is giving bad results.

While we work on the issue, please search using keyword only or search by the Entire Collection.

Link resolver not available in Google Scholar

The Library’s WebBridge Link Resolver is currently not available when searching Google Scholar. This problem is affecting all libraries that use WebBridge. When on campus you will not see the “Full-text at LSUHSC-NO” link next to citations nor are you able to add us when configuring off-campus settings through the “Library Links” list.

Until this problem is solved, there are a few options to check whether we have full-text access to a journal, book, or other work referenced in a citation:

We will update as soon as we have more information about this problem, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance.
