Google Searches the US Government

Someone mentioned on twitter this morning how much they loved the Google Uncle Sam search. Intrigued I did a little investigating. Turns out the advanced search feature has been around for at least a decade. The advantage is that it searches .gov and .mil domains which may only be used by the US government.

Due to a problem in the NLM computer room, PubMed is currently down. Hopefully the issue will be resolved quickly.

LSUHSC New Orleans users still have access to Medline via EBSCOhost or Ovid.

Closing @ 10:30 pm Wed & Thurs

The Isché Library will close at 10:30 pm on Wednesday & Thursday (Nov. 4th & 5th). The Library Commons will also be closed during this time period (from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am). Additionally, the Library Commons will be closed on Friday, Nov. 6th from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am Saturday, Nov. 7th. The closure is to accomodate overnight facilities work.

SAS on Board

SAS is now available on the three PCs in the Library Commons area. This resource is being supplied by the LSUHSC School of Public Health but any LSUHSC user may be access it.
