The Library Welcomes Our New Librarian, R. Blair Hollender

The LSU Health Isché Library would like to welcome our new librarian, R. Blair Hollender! Blair joined us this month as our new Digital Initiatives Librarian and School of Graduate Studies Liaison. Our university will benefit from the support of this position as it promotes our digital initiatives.

Blair received her Master of Library and Information Science degree from Simmons University, School of Library and Information Science – Boston, and her Bachelor of Arts in Art History for the University of Arkansas, Fulbright College – Fayetteville. She previously worked as the Executive Director of West Fork Public Library in West Fork, Arkansas.

Isché Library Welcomes Our New Public Service Associates

We are happy to introduce our newest Public Service Associates, John Gore and Claire Schouest!

John is originally from South Carolina. He earned his BA in English from the University of New Orleans. He is currently pursuing an MLIS at LSU. He will be serving as our Evening Supervisor.

Claire is a Louisiana native. She received her BA in English from Louisiana Scholars College.

Ische Library Welcomes Our New Librarian, Chandler Smith

We are happy to introduce our newest Librarian, Chandler Smith! Chandler joined us earlier this month as our Education Librarian. Chandler is a Louisiana native who received a BA in History from LSU and a Masters in Library Science from The University of Sheffield in the UK.

Ische Library welcomes our new Circulation Associate, Liza Whitfield

Liza is a New Orleans native who graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 2020 with a BA in History. As an undergraduate, she worked in Loyola’s Special Collections and Archives where she benefited from the guidance of the university’s lead archivist for two years. In August 2020, she completed a post-graduate fellowship at the Library of Congress within their Learning and Innovation Office. She is glad to be able to re-enter the field at LSUHSC and looks forward to furthering her education in the near future.

The Library Welcomes Our New Librarian, Rowan Marye

The LSU Health Isché Library would like to welcome our new librarian, Rowan Marye! Rowan joined us this month as our new Circulation Librarian and School of Nursing Liaison.

Rowan received their Master of Library and Information Science degree from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL and their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Louisiana State University. They have worked in public libraries in Illinois for over a decade. Most recently, they worked in a library consortium in central Illinois. They are excited to be back in New Orleans.
