*Edit* The latest power restoration is 4pm. The Ische Library will not open today. Hopefully, we’ll be open again tomorrow.
Parts of the downtown campus continue to be without power, including the RCB. The Ische Library will be closed this morning… or until power is restored. The current restoration estimate is 12 noon. Library staff will be working remotely and available via chat/email.

The LSUHSC Libraries, and the LSUHSC campuses, will be closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of the 4th of July holiday. In addition, the Isché Library will be closed on Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th.
Both Libraries will be open regular hours on Tuesday, July 6th.
On the downtown campus, the Library Lobby is having both elevator and wallpaper work done at the moment. Prepare to step carefully as you get off the elevator to access the coffee shop (to the right) or the Isché Library (to the left). Work will continue until it’s complete.
Because of construction in the downtown campus Atrium (which begins Wednesday, April 28th), the coffee bar will be moving to the Library Commons, adjacent to the Isché Library. The Coffee service will be open on Monday, May 3rd. Items and services will be limited. Hours are to be determined from 7am to 2pm each weekday as staffing allows.
The coffee bar operated previously from July 15, 2009 through March 28, 2013. It was not financially sustainable.
On Monday, April 5, 2021, both campus libraries will extend their hours.
The downtown campus Isché Library will be open:
Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 10pm
Friday 7:30am – 6pm
Saturday 9:30am – 6pm
Sunday 9:30am – 10pm
The city park campus Dental Library will be open:
Monday – Thursday 8am -6pm
Friday 8am – 5pm

The Libraries will be closed for the Easter University Holiday from Friday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 4th. Additionally the Isché Library will close at 6pm on Thursday, April 1st.
Both Libraries will reopen on Monday morning, April 5th. 
Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of COVID-19 on the LSUHSC Campuses were updated today, March 17, 2021.
This guideline includes the following: Masks: LSUHSC requires that masks be worn properly (covering the nose and mouth) in all public settings on campus (unless one is eating). The CDC and LSUHSC recommend that masks be worn at all times except while you are in your own home. For a guide of acceptable masks, please refer to this CDC document: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/about-face-coverings.html
We continue to have issues with mask noncompliance in the Libraries and would appreciate patron cooperation.
*Update 11am* The heat is still not on so campus is closed today. Hopefully it will be warmer and the heat will be on so we can open tomorrow, Thursday, February 18th.
Due to a power failure overnight (and a lack of heat) the downtown campus is delaying opening until 12 noon today. This includes the Isché Library. Stay warm!
With no parades happening this year, the Libraries will maintain their current hours, except that the Isché Library will close at 6pm on Lundi Gras (February 15th) at 6pm.
Both Libraries will be closed for Mardi Gras (February 16th), as this is a university holiday. Go eat some king cake and check out some House Floats and stay safe!
An emergency plumbing repair is scheduled for Wednesday evening, February 10th. This will include cutting out a large cast iron pipe so it will be both noisy and smelly while the work is being conducted. This will happen on the 5th floor of the Isché Library in the corner closest to Bolivar and Gravier. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Louisiana Department of Health has launched COVID Defense which uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology to track potential COVID-19 exposures. It collects no personal data and does not track your location. The more people in our area who use the app, the more helpful it will be. It is available in both the App Store and Google Play.
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr Day, the Libraries will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2021. The Isché Library will be open its current regular hours over the weekend.
Welcome back! And Hello 2021! Both the Isché and Dental Libraries are now open. And are back to our Phase 3 hours.
Isché Library: Monday-Thursday 8am-8pm; Friday 8am-6pm; Saturday 9:30am-6pm; Sunday 11:30am-8pm
Dental Library: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Both the Libraries are now closed for Winter Break. We will reopen on Monday, January 4th at 8am with our Phase 3 hours.

The Isché Library will begin Winter Break hours on Monday, December 21st. The Library will close at 6pm from the 21st through the 23rd. The Dental Library will maintain its shorter Phase 3 hours.
Both the Isché and Dental Libraries will be closed December 24th through January 3rd. Both Libraries will resume Phase 3 hours when we reopen in January.
