New resource for Hispanic Heritage Month
Through the Library’s membership in the LOUIS Consortium, we now have perpetual access to the Hispanic Life in America database.
The Hispanic Life in America series from Readex provides comprehensive coverage of Hispanic American history, culture, and daily life. Series 1 covers 1704-1942, Spanish Colonialism through World War II. This collection also includes El Misisipí, the first Spanish-language newspaper in America, which started publication in New Orleans in 1808.
Our subscription provides access to:
- Series 1: 1704-1942- Spanish Arrival to Texas Annexation (Beginning-1845)
- Mexican-American War to Platt Agreement (1946-1901)
- Cuban Independence to Mexican Revolution (1902-1920)
- San Antonio Flood to Sleepy Lagoon Trial (1921-1942)
