Due to construction work on campus, the Isché Library will be accessible from the 1st floor entrance to the Resource Center Building only. An LSUHSC ID badge is necessary to enter.
Both the Isché and Dental Libraries will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of the Labor Day holiday. In addition, the Isché Library will be closed on Sunday, September 6th.
*edit* Libraries and both campuses reopened at 8am on Tuesday, August 25th for badgeholders only.
The LSUHSC Libraries and the LSUHSC campuses will be closed on Monday, August 24th in advance of Hurricane Marco. We hope to reopen both locations at 8am on Tuesday, weather permitting.
The database from American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) contains over 200 ebooks and includes a wide range of pediatric topics, from dermatology to parenting. There are coding manuals and ebooks on practice management, as well as patient guidelines for new parents. There are even a few titles in Spanish.
You can browse the database or
search by topic or title. The titles can also be accessed through the Library
catalog. And we also have access to
the AAP database of neonatal resuscitation ebooks.
The Library has added a collection of new ebooks. These culturally and socially relevant titles are provided through the LOUIS Library Network and the ProjectMuse Evidence Based Selection program. The titles are:
The Library is happy to announce the renewal of ClinicalKey with generous funding from the School of Medicine! We are pleased to be able to continue to offer this extensive package of current and vital health sciences resources for another year. This database provides electronic access to over 1,000 books, nearly 700 journals, and a clinical search engine covering more than 30 specialties.
Every month, ClinicalKey adds new ebooks or editions to the collection. The most recent additions include:

These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. With the currently changes, we’ve decided to post the publications digitally. Check out the display below:
Publications cited in the Faculty Publications database are harvested weekly from a variety of sources, such as PubMed, SCOPUS, and CINAHL, to name a few. In addition to articles they include books, book chapters, papers, editorials, letters to the editor, and meeting abstracts, all authored by at least one member of the LSUHSC-NO community. The database is maintained by Reference Librarian Kathy Kerdolff and is available to the general public here or via the Library’s webpage. Beginning Monday, June 15th, the Isché Library will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday-Thursday, 8am to 6pm on Friday, 9:30am to 6pm on Saturday, and 11:30am to 8pm on Sunday. These hours will be maintained throughout phase 2 of the campus reopening.
Please note that all both the downtown and Dental campuses are still limited to badge holders, except for clinics.
